JOB DESCRIPTION

Greenpeace East Asia (GPEA) is looking for a dedicated programming professional that is passionate to tackle global and local environmental problems with us.

To maintain absolute independence Greenpeace does not accept money from companies, governments, or political parties. We rely fully on individual supporters and foundation grants. The System Developer is a crucial role to help our financial sustainability by developing new applications and maintaining our core systems.

 

As part of the Data, Insights and Analytics Team within the Fundraising & Engagement (FR&E) department, the System Developer will be involved in the development and implementation of system & application within the digital ecosystem, translate business idea into technology solutions that collectively contribute to providing an amazing digital experience for GPEA supporters.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop applications for new use cases within the digital fundraising ecosystem
  • Implement backend changes, provide support and configuration to the CRM system
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand the business needs and translate into compelling user stories and technical requirements        
  • Lead the discussion and the design of the system solutions that will enable new digital experiences for users

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
  • Proficiency in SQL 
  • Development experience with (Salesforce) programming languages, e.g. Java, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components. Working knowledge or certification with Salesforce CRM would be advantageous 
  • Understanding of frontend stack,e.g. HTML, JavaScript, REST/SOAP API is a plus
  • An understanding of Agile project management would be highly regarded.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.  Other languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin or Korean would be advantageous.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position can be based in Taiwan or Hong Kong and will require the successful candidate to work from the office. Normal hours of work for full-time Employees will be 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), between the hours of 9.30 am to 6:00 pm, including an hour of lunch break. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers. Greenpeace has a flexible working policy and is a family-friendly place to work.

 

Greenpeace East Asia has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, and Seoul.
