Purpose and Scope of the Job

Green Future is a Greenpeace project aiming to engage with and inspire the young generation to learn more about climate change, and then to conserve our planet and to develop their leadership potential. We aim to develop an interactive online-and-offline program to work with high school students, providing practical experiences and adaptable courses. The purpose is to guide learners through a journey of stories about our climate and its global emergency. The program offers a series of learning materials that involves learners in a more engaging experience on climate issues.

Overall purpose of the job


  • The Content Writer is responsible for creating professional communication materials for Green Future modules and promotion contents; managing the quality of content with the goal of raising Green Future profile and ensuring Climate Change and the project resonate among various audiences.  (L1-L4)

  • The creation of all Green Future content from concept development through to finalised content production/modules materials and supporter materials such as annual impact reports, newsletters, marketing appeals, and campaign brochures, etc. They will also work regularly with other team members and across departments to ensure best practice storytelling and style consistency. (L1-L4)



  • The Content Writer will help ensure all content created will have a consistent Green Future identity and messaging as well as engage supporters in compelling storytelling across the various content materials produced by the Greenpeace East Asia Fundraising & Engagement department.   (L1-L4)

  • The materials created will play a critical role in achieving our goal of reaching new audiences, new supporter targets and retaining and developing existing supporters to allow Gree Future to reach its campaign objectives. (L1-L4)

Job responsibilities

  • Create professional, engaging, accurate, up-to-date and creative content for Green Future website modules and other related materials. (L1-L4)


  • Write and edit supporter communications, public outreach and engagement materials including but not limited to offline and online publications, donor appeals, e-newsletters and web features.  (L1-L4)

  • Ensure that Greenpeace’s communications materials are accurate, professional, engaging and adhere to organizational image.  (L1-L4)

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with not only Green Future team but also a pool of freelance translators and editors.  (L1-L4)

  • Ensure communication strategies, tactics and messages are reflected in all communications materials released, working closely with the Fundraising & Engagement Team and Communications team to ensure coherence of public messaging and strategy.  (L1-L4)


  • Write and edit: Draft, edit, and proof (online/offline) content materials to ensure high-quality writing as well as consistency with the organization’s messaging and style. Write for the appropriate audience, taking into consideration their needs and expectations when considering word choice,tone according to the Green Future audiences’ data analysis. Identifying new storytelling tactics, strategies, and channels that present an opportunity to reach new and wider audience groups and increase exposure for Greenpeace East Asia’s work (L1-L4)

  • Work closely with Green Future Project Coordinator for better understanding of Green Future audiences’ needs and interests of contents, for help increase the stickiness of the audiences (L1-L4)

Specific Work Environment

  • This position works in a standard office environment and does not require much traveling 

  • This position may be required to work under pressure mentally. 

  • This position is likely to be regularly working outside of the office environment to network and visit stakeholders (such as schools)
