JOB DESCRIPTION
The Digital Communications Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing digital communication plans to further Greenpeace's campaign and organizational goals. This role aims to strengthen Greenpeace's capacity to utilize online and mobile communications to influence the public discourse and media agenda and to align public opinion towards Greenpeace campaigns and principles to protect the environment. 

The Digital Communications Strategist works under the direction of the Communications Team Leader and assumes responsibility for leading communication through external online platforms and Greenpeace Youtube channel for Greenpeace campaigns locally and internationally, with emphasis on widening the reach of Greenpeace campaign exposure and building influence through digital media.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with project teams and comms team to develop and execute digital influence and YouTube strategies to help achieve campaign objectives
  • Develop digital strategies for increasing Greenpeace's visibility and deepening understanding of Greenpeace's mission and values.
  • Monitor external online trends and provide strategic analysis of trends in digital communications/influence and recommendations for resulting opportunities
  • Create professional and engaging multimedia content to reach the online population, key decision-makers, and powerful influencers to achieve campaign goals.
  • Produce regular internal reports, evaluating the performance of responsible areas against communications and campaign objectives.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with digital media and build a network of influencers (including, bloggers, twitterians, Youtubers, streamers, podcasters, etc) for wider online reach to strengthen Greenpeace's ability to shape the public agenda.
  • Build a pool of freelance professionals to help design and produce multimedia content when required.
  • Ensure that Greenpeace identity and visual guidelines are adhered to and implemented.
  • Advise proactively in the development of standardized guidelines and online tools in line with the best industry practices.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in digital marketing; knowledge of Taiwan and wider Asia digital trends. 
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in Google Analytics and SEO strategy.
  • Ability to produce content/creative writing for social media marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills. 
  • Professional working level of both English and Mandarin skills.
  • Practical experience in influencer relations and public relations or a strong network and connections with influencers, and celebrities would be a plus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is required to be on call after hours and on weekends as requested. The position works in a standard office environment and is required to travel to others. Normal hours of work for full-time Employees will be 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), between the hours of 9.30 am to 6:00 pm, including an hour of lunch break. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers.
