PURPOSE and SCOPE OF THE JOB    
The Climate & Energy Campaigner is responsible for the development and implementation of effective and integrated Climate & Energy campaign work to achieve Greenpeace's mission. The post holder will work in a team composed of campaign, communications & multimedia, action, research, analytics, and fundraising and engagement staff. An effective decision requires an integrated approach and knowledge. The post holder may be assigned to work on projects which involve other Greenpeace offices. The post holder is managed by the Program Manager or Project Manager. Judgment is exercised in leading and managing a project or an area of a project. Decisions made by the post holder significantly impact the success of the project. Discretion is exercised in handling confidential and sensitive information.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize the campaign team, host regular team meetings, and manage budget and campaign administration work.
  • Monitor Taiwan's political, economic, social, and cultural status quo and trends, and communicate with local or international organizations and government departments for different environmental protection projects.
  • Monitor public opinion and media to raise public awareness, and get more public support for Greenpeace's campaign demands.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for the flawless execution of projects. 
  • Develop and implement effective and integrated campaign plans, strategies, and tactics related to the overall vision, goals, and objectives of the organization.
  • Organize offline/online activities and conduct research and investigation in relation to the objectives and plans of campaign projects
  • Actively represent Greenpeace in front of the business, scientific, and government sectors, the environmental community at large, and the media (traditional and new), to achieve campaign objectives and strengthen the profile and credibility of Greenpeace.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong interpersonal/ teamwork skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English is a plus.
  • Strong self-management and proven ability to solve problems creatively when facing changes and pressures
  • Proven ability to efficiently complete projects under public supervision
  • Curious and sensitive to environmental/ social campaign related / political information
  • Share and agree with Greenpeace's projects, principles, and core values
  • Work experience related to energy/environmental protection work is preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position works in a standard office environment and is required travel to other Greenpeace offices, campaign locations, or locations where environmental problems require the presence of Greenpeace representatives. The position may be required to work under pressure and in physically or mentally challenging situations. Be on call after hours and on weekends as requested. Normal hours of work for full-time Employees will be 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), between the hours of 9.30 am to 6:00 pm, including an hour of lunch break. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers.
