Purpose and Scope of the Job

Greenpeace East Asia is a leading environmental campaigning organization, working with supporters in East Asia to tackle the most crucial environmental crises affecting the region and the world. The effectiveness of Greenpeace past, present and future is in its ability to work to engage supporters with the key environmental battles and inspire them to take actions to make the world a greener place. Central to its ability to engage supporters is the use of data & systems to generate insights into the motivations and behaviour of supporters and to allow for supporters to effectively engage with Greenpeace across a range of platforms.

 

As part of the Fundraising & Engagement (FR&E) department, the role of Systems Development Project Manager is responsible for the development and delivery of key data and engagement systems projects that underpin and support the organization's ambitious supporter engagement plans.

 

The System Development Project Manager role is responsible for providing specialist project management and systems development capability to develop, implement, and roll out new data and engagement systems for the FR&E department and GPEA regional offices. This role will continuously identify system development needs that will add business value and improve cost and operational efficiency. This role will also ensure the successful implementation and delivery of systems projects.

 

This role is based in either Hong Kong, Taipei or Seoul.

Job responsibilities

Conceptual tasks, Strategy development and/or Project management

  • Develop business cases for seeking project funding, and project documentation such as project plans, scoping documents, etc.
  • Manage stakeholders and consultations.
  • Understand and analyze the business requirements from the systems and tools in order to design the outcomes to satisfy these needs.
  • Understand and identify wider systems development needs, anticipate future requirements and in conjunction with the Data & Systems Manager ensure the systems development map is continuously reviewed and updated.

 

 

Implementation

  • Ensure projects are delivered according to business/user requirement, schedule and budget.
  • Plan and manage resource requirements for each project.
  • Develop and manage User Acceptance Testing.
  • Work with the Data & Systems Manager on system deployment.
  • Produce technical documentation/guides for relevant systems and tools.

 

Support/Coaching/Leadership

  • Lead relevant regional project teams.
  • Consult with end users of the systems and tools to ensure their needs are met.
  • Support and coach end users in the use of systems and tools.
  • Strengthen the system/data knowledge and project management capability of the Data Insights Team.

 

Compliance / Keeping Framework Conditions

  •  Ensure Projects are delivered on budget and schedule.
  •  Evaluate systems solutions on an ongoing basis to feed into the systems development map.

Skills and Expertise required

  • Qualification, knowledge and/or experience in Project Management such as Agile Project Management, PRINCE2, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Salesforce
  •  Knowledge and/or experience in business administration, including contractual skills to organize subcontractors
  •  Knowledge and/or experience in managing data systems and integrating multiple data sources
  •  Knowledge and/or experience in relational databases and SQL queries
  •  Knowledge and/or experience in producing technical documentation

Specific Work Environment

  •  Occasional travel in other Greenpeace offices for training, skillshares.
  •  Occasional work or travel to other locations within and outside of Greenpeace East Asia region for meetings with partners, consultants, experts; training, conferences, seminars, etc.
