Purpose and Scope of the Job

This position mainly supports Greenpeace’s projects administration in mainland China toensure projects’ operational compliance and efficient administration.This position needs to work closely and effectively with all project teams & departments in Greenpeace‘s Beijing Office.

Job responsibilities

Project management 

  • Together with project teams, conduct the project administration in the whole project cycle, including but not limited to temporary activity permit applications & closure, legal processes, financial processes, and other administrative procedures.

  • Monitor the project budget expense and coordinate the payment to partners and vendors. 

  • Coordinate signing contracts with partner agencies, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and communicate with project teams and different functional departments to support resolving compliance issues.

  • Support writing the annual plan and annual report according to legal requirements. 

  • Support preparing other documents/information required by supervisory bodies.


  • Contribute to improving internal project operation efficiency, including but not limited to organizing discussions, smooth procedures and setting up protocols, etc. 

  • Work closely with other colleagues to organize and coordinate office meetings and events as required.

  • Undertake other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Skills and Expertise required

1. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English. 

2. Can work in an organized way to meet the deadline and have an eye on details.

3. Strong collaborative spirit and working smoothly with different project teams. 

4. Demonstrate a certain level of resilience and being able to work under pressure

3. At least one year of work experience in related fields, e.g., project administration and compliance.

4. Familiarity with the social, political, and cultural context of Mainland China.

Specific Work Environment

Work in a standard office environment and is required to travel to other Greenpeace offices, campaign locations, or locations where environmental problems require the presence of Greenpeace representatives.


Preferred Candidate profile (Internal for recruitment)

  • Experience in the NGO sector, especially in NGO/foundation operation, management or compliance, etc.

Relevant Industry (Internal for recruitment)

Administration of NGOs, Operation or Compliance of Industries, Office of research institute or universities.
