Purpose and Scope of the Job

To direct, supervise and manage Greenpeace East Asia’s IT development, application strategy and implementation, such that advanced IT capacity can strengthen and support GP’s development in East Asia, including the Campaign, Communication, Fundraising, and Membership Departments.

Job responsibilities

1. Manage the  IT department  in the region that supports the Program, Fundraising and Engagement, Finance and Organisational Support Departments;
2. Internal IT capacity building, identifying appropriate training needs and playing a crucial role in motivating team members and staff in the organization to leverage latest technology on Program, Fundraising and Engagement, Finance and Organisational Support (both internally and externally) work;
3. Establish and maintain the channels  to collect requirements from campaign, fundraising and communication teams, to facilitate new ideas on leveraging appropriate digital, social media and web technologies;
4. Propose a knowledge management framework and implementation plan for Greenpeace East Asia;
5. Overall program / project management -- oversee project timelines for software program development; jointly with teams, assign responsibilities for design, programming and migration tasks;
6. Facilitates collaboration on joint development and use of Global IT projects amongst Greenpeace International and other NROs;
7. Develop and review IT policies, procedures, best practices and ensure the proper control / risk management and system / data security are in place;
8. Review current technology and drive ways to leverage and improve productivity;
9. Provide annual department development plan to seek advancement of the operation, provide annual report and the progress and the asset managed by the IT department; 
10. Yearly budget review, and allocation, both within the team as well as outsourced vendors and suppliers; gatekeeping of all expenditures within the agreed budget; seek cost efficiency in operation 
11. To perform ad hoc projects as required.

Information Security and PCI (The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance
 

Specific Work Environment

Travel as required.
Good command of written and spoken English, fluent Chinese and/or Korean is an advantage
