조직 및 캠페인 대외 커뮤니케이션을 총괄하는 리더로서:

  • 전략:

    • 프로그램부 리더십의 일원으로서 조직 전략을 공동 수립

    • 그린피스 서울사무소의 중장기 커뮤니케이션 비전 수립

    • 조직 대외 커뮤니케이션 전략 및 환경 의제 프레이밍 주도

    • 캠페인 커뮤니케이션 전략 공동 설계 및 임팩트 극대화

    • 미디어 환경 변화에 맞춘 커뮤니케이션 전환 설계

  • 운영:

    • 레거시 미디어·디지털 통합 커뮤니케이션 팀(10명 내외) 운영 및 역량 개발

    • 커뮤니케이션 품질 기준·편집 원칙 수립 및 피드백 체계 운영

    • 조직 내 다양한 부서와 협업하여 전략적 커뮤니케이션 실행

    • 리스폰시브 상황에서의 신속한 의사결정 및 대응

    • 핵심 언론·이해관계자·외부 파트너 관계 구축, 필요 시 대변인 역할 수행

 

[지원 자격]

  • 커뮤니케이션, 홍보, 캠페인, 저널리즘 분야 15년 이상의 경력

  • 5인 이상 팀의 리더로서 구성원을 관리·육성한 경험

  • 조직 차원의 커뮤니케이션 전략을 수립하고 복수의 프로젝트에 걸쳐 실행과 성과 측정을 주도한 경험

  • 복수의 내외부 이해관계자를 조율한 경험

  • 위기 커뮤니케이션 대응 경험

  • 예산·자원 배분 등 운영 책임을 맡아 본 경험 

  • 한국어 원어민 수준 (필수), 영어 업무 가능 (중상급 이상)

[고용형태]

  • 2년 자체 기간제 계약직(그린피스 내부 규정상, 전직원은 2년 자체 계약직으로 입사. 2년이 도래하는 시점에 평가를 거쳐 정규직 전환 혹은 계약만료)

[Core Duties]

  • As a leader overseeing external communications for the organization and its campaigns:

    Strategy

    • Co-develop organizational strategy as a member of the Program Department leadership team
    • Establish the mid- to long-term communications vision for the xxx Seoul office
    • Lead the organization’s external communications strategy and framing of environmental issues
    • Co-design campaign communications strategies and maximize campaign impact
    • Drive communications transformation in response to changes in the media landscape

    Operations

    • Lead and develop an integrated communications team (approximately 10 members) covering both legacy media and digital channels
    • Establish communication quality standards and editorial principles, and operate a structured feedback system
    • Execute strategic communications in collaboration with diverse internal departments
    • Make timely decisions and respond effectively in fast-moving, high-pressure situations
    • Build relationships with key media, stakeholders, and external partners, and serve as a spokesperson when needed

[Desired Skills and Experiences]

    • Minimum 15 years of experience in communications, public relations, campaigning, or journalism
    • Proven experience managing and developing team members as a leader of a team of 5 or more
    • Demonstrated experience developing organization-wide communications strategies and leading execution and performance measurement across multiple projects
    • Experience coordinating and aligning multiple internal and external stakeholders
    • Experience in crisis communications management
    • Experience with operational responsibilities such as budgeting and resource allocation
    • Native-level proficiency in Korean (required), with strong working proficiency in English (upper-intermediate or above)
    • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

    [Preferrence]

    • Experience developing and executing communications strategies across both traditional and digital media
    • Experience restructuring teams and setting strategic direction during periods of organizational change
    • Proven track record of introducing new communication channels, formats, or strategies and delivering measurable results
    • Established network in broadcast/video media and experience in content planning or production
    • Experience in non-profit organizations, campaign-based organizations, or civil society movements
    • Experience collaborating within global organizations or multicultural environments
    • Strong understanding of environmental issues such as the climate crisis, energy transition, and biodiversity

[Contract type]

- Korea : 2- year contract (As per internal policy, all new staff begin with a 2year contract. Upon compltion of the 2-year term, transition to a permanent contranct or contract ending depends on evaluation results).

Purpose and Scope of the Job

Overall purpose of the job

 

The Communications Team Leader manages the communications team, develops the office's communications capacity and sets the program and organizational communications strategy. S/he is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Greenpeace message and the organization's image as an independent, authoritative voice for the environment. S/he monitors trends as well as ensures the implementation of the most effective communication tools and techniques.

 

The Communications Team Leader may be assigned to lead projects or to design and implement communications strategy for projects, which may involve other regions Greenpeace operates in.

 

Scope

 

The position works under the direction of the Program Manager/Deputy Program Director, and assumes responsibility for a major area of the program activity in the region where the position is located. The position demonstrates considerable independence and initiative, and provides leadership for the planning, development and implementation of communications strategies, plans, and procedures. Judgment is exercised in directing staff. Decisions made by the position significantly impact the success of the program activities. Discretion is exercised in handling confidential and sensitive information.

 

The position exercises direct staff supervisory responsibility of small number of staff.

 

The position provides direction and guidance to external consultants and temporary staff, as required.

 

The position prepares, monitors and controls expenses and budget.

 

The position has the authority to approve invoices and expenditures to a limit. Please consult with Finance Manager for the amount of approval.

Job responsibilities

Conceptual tasks, Strategy development and/or Project management

  • Direct and oversee the planning, development and implementation of campaign communications in a specific region.
  • Actively shape Greenpeace long-term organizational communications strategy
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in communications, traditional and online media, and identify opportunities to adapt Greenpeace work accordingly.
  • Propose projects according to campaign strategy; provide knowledge-based guidance to the development and implementation of projects.
  • Provide guidance to the communications team in the region where the position is located, in response to internal and external trends.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the use of comms/engagement in response to internal needs, external trends and the legal, political and cultural conditions.
  • Identify and implement ways (e.g. training, use of new methods and equipment etc) to enhance comms/engagement and campaign design integration capacity within the organization.
  • Provide strategic advice on the use comms/engagement  in campaign projects.

 

Implementation

 

  • Undertake reactive and proactive media work as required  to achieve campaign objectives and strengthen the profile and credibility of Greenpeace.
  • Liaise and build relationships with media and influencers.
  • Prepare written materials,Make presentations and respond to public speaking requests.
  • Liaise with other Greenpeace offices and Greenpeace International. Promote support within Greenpeace to advance program goals.
  • Develop and implement effective comms/engagement strategy  to support campaign and organisational goals.

 

Support/ Coaching/ Leadership

 

  • Provide team leadership. Manage, motivate and facilitate the work of staff. Inspire and encourage staff to be innovative in all aspects of their work. Determine priorities, assign responsibilities and supervise staff. Identify staff training needs.
  • Allocate staff to projects and provide knowledge-based guidance to design and implementation of projects. Coordinate staff capacity according to program priorities.
  • Provide comms expertise with respect to specialized program areas. Maintain high-level of knowledge on the issues related to responsible areas.
  • Provide expert and strategic advice to management on all internal and external issues related to the responsible area.
  • Organize comms/engagement training for staff, Recruit, cultivate and manage comms/engagement communities

 

 

Compliance/ Keeping Framework Conditions

 

  • Oversee the integrity and quality of work outputs and products. Maintain the integrity of Greenpeace's image as an independent, authoritative voice for the environment.
  • Oversee professional management of the Greenpeace image collection, copyrights and other creative assets.
  • Produce regular internal reports, evaluating performance of Greenpeace’s communications output against communications and campaign objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate protocols and policies are in place for communications work are in place. Standardize production process for all of Greenpeace’s communications, including producing and implementing use of an in-house style-guide.
  • Oversee budget and ensure that all expenditure is kept within the allocated budget. Ensure financial and administrative procedures are followed by the team.
