Purpose and Scope of the Job

Greenpeace East Asia has seen a steady growth in web traffic in past years and in the last 3 years
the region has been ranked the top traffic site among Greenpeace NROs in terms of aggregate web
sessions. Continual digitalisation of its fundraising programs has also been a cornerstone in the
organisation’s latest 3-years plan (2023-25), for which website optimisation plays a key part in such
transformation. This role is to enable the organisation to scale up and capitalise on its already sizable
annual web traffic volume and to ultimately achieve its ambition of creating a leading digital
engagement platform within the Greenpeace global community and also in the non-profit sector (L1-
L4). The role will play a crucial role in defining and leading a strategy for Greenpeace East Asia’s
content management system (website) content and technology across the region (Hong Kong, Japan,
Korea, Taiwan), to bring enhanced digital experience for existing and potential Greenpeace
supporters while delivering fundraising, engagement and campaigning impact for the organisation (L3-
L4).
This role is required to work closely with different key stakeholders in the organisation, including but
not limited to digital content specialists, marketing and fundraising experts, web developers and UI/UX
researcher, data specialists, external technology vendor etc., to identify traffic growth potential,
conversion optimisation opportunities, business / feature requirements and manage project &
deliverables implementation (L1-L4). The role will also produce regular analytics reports, insights and
advice to senior management in the organisation on website performance, users behaviour, funnel
optimisation, system improvement, etc (L1-L4). The role will also potentially lead / engage in new
digital / tech initiatives that aim to improve supporter experience via deployment of the latest available
technology, including payment method integration, marketing automation, donor portal, etc. (L3-L4)

Job responsibilities

● Build effective funnel strategy with local teams to drive meaningful traffic to GPEA website
while maximising the lead capture and / or donation potential by providing engaging content
and optimised user experience (L1-L4)
● Create and / or manage web tech development project that build new features and
functionality for GPEA website and / or provide better digital experience for Greenpeace

supporters (L3-L4)
● Regular audit of website performance and provide recommendations on both strategic
direction and tactical improvements on web tech and content to achieve organisational and
departmental OKRs (L3-L4)
● Be on top of industrial trend and adapt into best practices for day-to-day operation (L1-L4)
● Hold regular consultation meetings with key stakeholders and business teams in the region to
identify growth potential and new requirements for website content & technology (L1-L4)
● Establish, report and set targets on key engagement metrics for GPEA website (L1-L4)
● Ensure proper data collection through website behaviour and draw insights for decision-
making (L1-L4)
● Identify gap and provide capacity building plan to promote web tech capability, digital literacy
and competency within and across teams (L3-L4)
● Identify and work with external web tech / content / design partner as necessary (L3-L4)
● Liaise with GPI on new development in website technology and represent GPEA in the global
web tech community (L3-L4)
● Provide coaching to FRE members where appropriate (L3-L4)
● Budget and resources management where applicable (L3-L4)
