In this position you are leading the communication efforts of Mindworks. Your role will be to develop and implement communication strategies, networks and platforms to connect with our partners and funders. You will support the design of strategies and tools to support mindset shifting campaigns with a focus in the Global South. 

Mindworks is a small distributed multicultural  team of 6 operating out of Asia and Europe. We are part of Greenpeace East Asia and planning to create a second independent NGO in the coming months. We work agile and push ourselves to constantly innovate providing solutions in a rapidly changing world.

Purpose and Scope of the Job

We are currently hiring a  Communication and Growth Manager who will be responsible for strategic positioning of Mindworks inside and outside of Greenpace by (i) helping us map and understand and connect our partners and audiences (ii) communicating our insights, tools and services (iii) and ensuring growth of the organisation through major donor fundraising.

This is a cross-functional role that will work closely with the Mindworks leadership team, researchers, product developers and freelancers and will report directly to the Co-leadership of Mindworks.

Job responsibilities

Planning, design and execution of communication strategies 

  • Develop and implement online strategy to broaden the audiences that can access and benefit from Mindworks’ products and expertise (building and maintaining online presence and designing tools and online courses).
  • Planning and executing initiatives to reach new target audiences (both within Greenpeace and external) through online media including news articles, podcasts, social media and forums.

Maintain Mindworks communication with partners and interested parties

  • Generate content for our various online platforms    
  • Publish a regular online newsletter
  • Maintain networks with interested media

Designing and implementing a fundraising strategy

  • Identify potential funders and funding opportunities
  • Prepare and write grant proposals
  • Create specific communication materials for funders
  • Attend networking events with fundraising organisations
  • Ensure targeted funding income for the sustenance and growth of Mindworks
  • Reporting and liaison with funders

Support and Leadership 

  • To achieve the actions under point 1-3 identify and employ freelancers that bring the skills required to support the Communication and Growth manager.
  • Design contracts and manage freelancers to ensure that deliverables are achieved. 
  • Maintain a network of freelancers that have proven to deliver excellent work

Co-create with  Mindworks team 

  • Provide inputs & expertise to the team in design and development of new products and tools, based on a strong understanding of Mindworks' target audience
  • Propose new initiatives to attract based on understanding existing demands.
  • Participate in the development of goals, KPIs and overall strategies of Mindworks.
  • Other duties as per the requirements of the team. 
  • Co-create communication components for projects we are designing with partners to achieve the Mission of Mindworks

Skills and Expertise required

-Strong and diverse practical experience in online communication

-Practical experience in facilitating and managing grants

-Strong if possible native English skills

-Experience to work in remote teams

-Experience in developing and leading the implementation of communication strategies

Specific Work Environment

The post holder will be able to work from home or in a standard office environment. While we are trying to minimize travel to reduce carbon emissions, ‘they’ might be required to travel to support partners in other parts of the world. The place of living should preferably be in Taipei, Seoul, Beijing or Hong Kong
